MAX / CERTIFICATIONS

Standards that document trust.

From quality management to product safety, we present our approach with clear scope, current documentation and transparent technical information.

01

ISO 9001

Quality management system

Shows that quality processes, customer requirements and continual improvement are managed within an internationally recognised framework. ISO 9001 applies to an organisation and its management system; it is not a product certificate.

02

CE

European conformity marking

Indicates the manufacturer’s declaration that the relevant product meets applicable essential EU requirements. The technical file and EU Declaration of Conformity are evaluated per product; CE is not a quality certificate.

03

UL

Product safety certification

Refers to independent evaluation of products against applicable safety requirements for the North American market. UL 1598 for luminaires and UL 8750 for LED equipment are common references; exact coverage depends on the product model and UL Mark type.

LIGHTING INDUSTRY

Other important standards and schemes.

The following are technical references commonly encountered in lighting products depending on project and market requirements.

01

IEC / EN 60598

Defines general and product-specific safety requirements and tests for luminaires.

02

ENEC / ENEC+

An independent European certification scheme for electrical products; ENEC+ also addresses LED module and luminaire performance.

03

IECEE CB Scheme

Facilitates mutual acceptance of electrical product test results and certificates across participating countries.

04

IEC 62471 / IEC 62471-7

Addresses photobiological safety assessment for lamps, LEDs and luminaires.

05

IEC 60529 — IP Code

Classifies enclosure protection against access, solid objects, dust and water ingress.

06

IEC 62262 — IK Code

Specifies the resistance level of electrical equipment enclosures against external mechanical impact.

07

CISPR 15 / EN 55015

Covers radio-disturbance emission limits and measurement methods for electrical lighting and similar equipment.

08

RoHS

EU rules restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

09

IEC / EN 61347

Defines general and particular safety requirements for lamp and LED controlgear.

DOCUMENT SCOPE

Certificate, declaration and test-report coverage may vary by product model, target market and current standard edition. The additional industry standards on this page are informational and do not by themselves claim certification for MAX products. Request the current document for your project from our technical team.
